Have you seen or read about the new Minn Kota Raptor? For some reason it looks awfully familiar, like I have seen this before in the past. It’s sort of like a surface tablet and an iPad. They look the same, act the same, both have pluses and minuses, but the reality is that one is late to the game. They do say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Is this the case… ...Read More
Check out this video and pictures of the Prodigy Boats 2066 Platinum Bay Series boat. This is one sick looking boat. Prodigy boats are built like tanks. Pad hull, thick 190 5086 aluminum, 25-gallon fuel tank, and a boatload of other options to name a few. I borrowed a couple of pics from their website, but head on over to the Prodigy Boats website and check out all… ...Read More
Are you ready for a turn-key all-electric bass boat? Do you have $32,500 to pay for it? If so, you can pre-order the Pure Watercraft Tracker Pro Team 175 TXW. While I think there is a market for all-electric bass boats, I just can’t see someone forking over 30k plus for a tracker boat. What is Pure Watercraft thinking? I don’t think they know anything… ...Read More
While surfing YouTube for random videos and whatnot, I came across an aluminum boat comparison. While not completely an apples to apples comparison, it was more like Fuji apple vs a Gala apple comparison. This particular video compared a 17-foot Alumacraft vs a 17-foot Bass Tracker.
There are a few things to make note of. Memphis Boat Center is an Alumacraft… ...Read More
Things you find surfing the internet. I came across a website called On the Fly Jack Plates. Basically, this is an on the fly manual jack plate that allows for instant adjustments, even while motoring along. Some will whine about safety while motoring, but seriously pay attention and just be careful. These are not cheap, but not outrageous either. I would put… ...Read More
The guys over at Blue Line Fishing did a great little walkthrough & review of the 2020 Bass Tracker Classic XL. Most folks agree that Bass Tracker is synonymous with being a great value, decent quality boat. My cousin had a little Tracker 165 powered by a 25hp 4-stroke. It was just a beast of a little fishing boat that created fun times and memories. I wish he still… ...Read More
Check out this video series of a really badass 1648 Jon Boat to Bass Boat build. These videos were created by TinBoats.net member Nate Eckhold. Nate does some awesome work on aluminum boats. I have had a few online chats with Nate, and I can tell you upfront that Nate is not a “computer” guy. His comfort areas are working with his hands, and that is just… ...Read More
Check out the new Avid 20 XB Aluminum Boat. From what I am reading, it was revealed at the 2020 Bassmaster Classic. This is one sharp-looking aluminum bass boat. I get that it is not for everyone, but for those looking for a tournament bass boat, you might want to take a look at Avid Boats. Looks like there is way more room for the driver than what is in my Ranger. That’s… ...Read More
Can you say WOW? Get a load of this Gator Trax 20ft Strike Series aluminum boat. This boat is a beast. It has a 250HO Evinrude G2. This boat pushes 80mph. I know it’s not for all of us, but for some, it is! I love this setup. The only thing I would do differently is rip out that second console and add a couple of Minn Kota Talons.
I love the dry storage boxes because… ...Read More
The Tin Rig – A Detailed Walk Through is a quick video of Gman’s aluminum boat. Jumping on the aluminum bandwagon, and I love it. We have been Tin forever, and now everyone wants in on the game. Check out Gman’s Tin rig. It’s a pretty nice boat. I don’t know about the “most badass” though, I have seen way better. But whatever… ...Read More
