The Abu Garcia Zata is Abu’s new sub $200 low profile fishing reel. The Zata comes in at a decent price point and can be had for around $175. The Zata is not as pricey as some other reels, it’s still up there in cost. Would you pony up for this Shimano Curado competitor? In my opinion, if this reel performs anywhere near my Abu Garcia Revo Rocket, then this reel will be another winner from Abu Garcia.

The first thing you notice about this reel is that Matte Green color. To be honest, I think it’s a winner. It has that military kind of look to it. I wonder if the reel feels smooth or if it has a rough feeling to it?
