What’s with all the new posts online about fishing with blade baits? I was just given my first one this past Christmas from my mother-in-law. Perfect timing right? Where have I been? To be honest, I always associated fishing blade baits the same as fishing a lipless crankbait. Fishing lipless crankbaits is something I dread, I’m just not a fan of it.
My Gold Blade Bait
Check out this sexy blade bait. If one of you can help identify who makes this particular blade bait, that would be huge. What I can tell you is that I’m going to replace the hooks and the snap. They feel cheap and I would hate to lose a world-record because of them.
Fishing Blade Baits
Having done a little research I can see that there is not much to these baits. You can score some cheapies for a couple of bucks or you could pay around ten bucks or more for premium colors and components. To me, this is a chunk of metal and that’s what its design and intent were for. I like the concept of being able to adjust the snap placement for different actions on the bait, but I can promise you I will never do that. I will pick up another bait to use unless someone on my boat is absolutely smashing them on this bait.
