Down Imaging Basics

Here is a great video on Down Imaging Basics for the beginner. Are you as completely confused as me? Are you just trying to wrap your head around this technology? Thank goodness for people like Johnny and his Fish The Moment YouTube channel.

I want to buy a new unit for my Ranger, but with all these brands, features, and options, I don’t even know where to begin. I can tell you one thing for sure. What I don’t want is to have to spend my time facing a screen while I’m out there on the water. I do enough of that all day long for work.

What am I looking at?

How far are those rocks? Where is that brush pile at the exact moment it scrolls across your screen? What if you’re moving or stopped? This Down Imaging Basics video puts things in perspective.

Down Imaging, Side Imaging, 360 imaging. My head hurts, it’s not like this stuff is cheap. I need to make sure I pick the right one on the first try.  I find myself spending lots of time on the Fish The Moment YouTube channel where I am slowly learning all the pros and cons of each brand and what they have to offer.
