I came across a video on youtube on how to keep your feet warm during the colder months. I subscribe to Intense Angler Outdoors and this video caught my eye because it seems that this is a cheap solution, and the theory behind it seems logical. There is nothing worse than being outdoors whether its fishing or hunting and having cold feet. I don’t care how much your shoes or boots cost, how much insulation they have, what kind of wool or fancy material socks you have, once you stop moving, feet get cold. Watch this quick video and let me know what you think. I am not sold on it, but will try it because it’s cheap.
What I do today
In really foul weather I use LaCrosse hunting boots. My boots have Thinsulate Ultra insulation and they are awesome. I have had them for over 20 years and they are still going strong with no leaks. I highly recommend theses boots.
I also wear Basspro Wool socks when I’m out and about in the woods or on the water during the colder months. These socks are the best, and they come with a Lifetime Guarantee. I have actually returned a pair after 5-6 years of use because I poked a whole in them with my big toe. The return to Basspro went without a hitch. I strolled up to customer service, explained to the young lady behind the counter that they had a hole in them and she told me to go get another pair. The experience on the return was great and went without a hitch. On really cold days when I know I will be sitting for a long time, I use disposable foot warmers. I love these because they do work and they are relatively inexpensive.
There is no exact science on keeping your feet warm, and everyone is different. The bottom line is that cold feet make for a miserable experience. If you have any other tips to keeping your feet warm , please let us know by commenting below.
